OKC Landrunners

Following a large race, runners often lose their drive and incentive to continue training. Now that the streets of Oklahoma City are cleared and the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon is complete, how can runners keep consistent training?
Oklahoma City is home to the Landrunners, an Oklahoma City running club. The Landrunners encourage new members of all running levels to support healthy and recreational running. Group running provides many benefits from peer inspiration to staying safe. Spring training for the Landrunners is already well underway, but anyone is always welcome to join.
The Landrunners’ community is a great way to stay in touch with events and training around the Oklahoma City metro area. Vitsit www.okcrunning.org for more details.

A Way to Get Involved

For all those citizens of Norman who are looking for a way to get involved with running, a local website has what you need. In 2008 run-norman.com was founded to begin a local online running community. The site gives information regarding anything running related in our area. It is the perfect place for runners who are looking to join clubs and train, or even where to go to get equipped. The website’s goal is to invite people of all types to actively engage in running. You can find a calendar of running events and the training schedules the group uses.
Whether you are a beginner or an expert, the website is a great way to get involved with other runners close to home.

Brian Pierson is always running, both on and of the pavement. From his job in Oklahoma City to his active involvement in the town of Guthrie, Oklahoma, he is hard to keep up with. He is so well known for his active running that in 1986 it led him to running with the olympic torch.
